'The Power' Taylor at Newbridge RFC

RFC are delighted to announce that Phil 'The Power' Taylor is coming
to the club on the evening of Friday May 8th.The most successful
darts player of all time and a great ambassador for Darts has gone
on to win 14 world championship titles and his popularity led him
to be nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
'The Power' is the most successful darts
players of all time, holding 14 World Championship titles among
many others. Phil Taylor was born in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, and
was playing darts from an early age. He was noticed in the pubs
of Stoke by Eric Bristow, a well known figure in the world of darts
in the 1980s, who decided to sponsor Phil so he could enter low-level
tournaments.
Eric recommended Phil to come to Newbridge
RFC after his recent League of Legends and added 'I was overwhelmed
with the reception I recieved at Newbridge recently and I had no
hesitation in recommending 'The Power' to Newbridge RFC. His popularity
amongst darts fans has led him to write his autobiography, The Power:
My Autobiography, as well as appearing on many television shows
such as The Frank Skinner Show and Hard Spell and most recently
the BBC game show Eggheads.
Phil, who has four children with his
wife Yvonne, added: "I am really looking forward to coming
to one of the most famous rugby clubs in Wales. I am also aware
that Peter Manley and The League of Legends were very impressed
with the dart players of Gwent. I will have to be at the top of
my game on the evening."
Phil will be playing 18 legs of darts,
along with hosting a Q & A with the audience. There will also
be opportunities to play Phil on the evening, as well as have photographs
with the 'greatest darts player' the world has seen.
